Deciduous trees


Deciduous ornamental trees.

Winter is the best time to plant deciduous ornamentals, when they are dormant/ bare rooted which gives them the best chance of being replanted without going into shock. Here are some of our trees for the 2023 season. More in store, from late June.

October Glory.

(Acer rubrum)


Ornamental Maple with lustrous, dark green leaves. During autumn the leaves turn dark pinkish-red.

Atropurpureum.

(Acer palmatum)


A small dense Japanese maple, with excellent year-round colour.


HEIGHT: up to 4m





Orangeola.

(Acer palmatum)


Weeping Japanese maple that forms a small tree or large shrub with cascading branches. Fine leaves in a range of colours, featuring bright orange growing tips in spring.

Merlot.

(Cercis canadensis)


Small garden tree with rich purple glossy foliage. Heat tolerant in summer. Bright pink flowers in spring.

Prunus x blireiana.


Robust small flowering plum with an excellent massed display of double pink flowers followed by bronzy-purple foliage.


HEIGHT: up to 4m





Aristocrat.

(Pyrus calleryana)


Medium sized ornamental pear with excellent floral display. A tough and adaptable tree. Inedible fruit.


HEIGHT: up to 11m.




Pendula.

(Morus alba)


A weeping mulberry with long sweeping, pendulous branshes with large, glossy leaves. Tough, small tree.


HEIGHT: Up to 3m





Snow Fountains.

(Prunus x)


A weeping cherry that has both spectacular floral and foliage beauty. Dark green leaves that change to orange, gold and red in autumn. Masses of white flowers in spring.

Pink Snow Showers.

(Prunus x)


Pink pretty ornamental weeping cherry with a floriferous cascade of single blossom in early to mid spring.


HEIGHT: up to 2m




Pink Cascade.

(Prunus yedoensis x incisa)


Small weeping deciduous tree. Early spring show of pink flowers. Deep green, fine leaves that turn orange to red in autumn.


HEIGHT: up to 2.5m

This ornamental malus (crab apple) is known for its large bright fuchsia-pink masses of flowers in spring.
