Packing Sand

 
Our three stores all stock slightly different Packing Sands from their local quarries. Packing Sand is a very coarse sand that is produced from the wash of aggregate gravels. It is the product that most paving contractors use to lay their pavers on. The normal depth of packing sand  for laying pavers is anywhere between 25 to 75mm.
Packing Sand is also ideal fof a fill for under neath concrete slabs.
 
 
River Sand

Lee Rowan's  offer a quality clean Washed River Sand that is locally mined in the Hunter Valley. River Sand is very coarse and as such has a number of uses in landscaping. It is a major ingredient in Potting Mixes, garden soils, an excellent lawn top dressing, as well as being the manufacturer's recommended sand to lay pavers on. Our friendly staff are happy to advise on quantities and mixing rates for all of these special purposes.
 
 
Cream Packing Sand (only stocked at Raymond Terrace)

Cream packing sand is the product we stock that is similar to Sydney's Decomposed Granite. Cream Sand is a sand which packs down very well & is ideal for creating paths & entertaining areas. This sand should always be used to a minimum of 50mm. One thing to keep in mind is that a sand product will stick to wet feet & shoes, so some people may prefer a topping of gravel rather than sand.
